A polytheistic look at king hamlet's ghost
For quite a while we were talking about how The ghost was probably a Christ figure, but, going along with what Shakespeare was doing I'm going to take a polytheistic point of view on it. Very different form the Christians, nearly every polytheistic religion views something coming back from the dead as bad. A dog will come back from the dead to hunt down it's abusive owner. Druids awoke to strike back at lumbermen. The king isn't coming back to warn them, it's returned to threaten them. It's a ghost of something else and it only takes the kings shape to confuse them.

All dressed up with nowhere to go
The outfit that I've designed is a contemporary, modern outfit. Instead of designing something that I believe one of the characters would wear I designed something that could represent them.

You can't tell in this picture but this top has an open back. This was the first piece of clothing that I chose so the rest of the outfit is chosen around it. The colour red has a lot of symbolism but, I decided to ignore the symbolism of colour in Dalloway. I chose an open back because the it is very conservative except for the peep hole. It's great for symbolizing the dilemma between communication and privacy.

I chose these pants fly in the face of oppression, another important theme in the book. Not only are they not a skirt (which were something women didn't wear often.) but, they even show off more skin than a normal pair of pants.

These sensible flats are here to represent the fear of death. Often women remark that high heels were only invented to prevent them from running away. An easy solution for this would be to wear flats; it will prevent soreness and make it easier to escape a dangerous situation.

This bracelet represents time, life, and the symbols of trees and flowers.
